Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I am married and have two school-aged children in Asheville City Schools. I worked for seven+ years at Communities In Schools of Chicago prior to moving to Asheville, then spent a couple of years working with Spanish-speaking families in Intensive In-Home Services with Access Family Services prior to coming to UWABC. I am proud to have served as UWABC's first community school coordinator!
Give us a glimpse into your role at United Way. How do you help us fulfill our mission? What are you most excited about accomplishing as a team?
Two big parts of my role are to: support the community school coordinators and school leaders to implement the community school strategy; and to support the implementation of restorative practices with our school and community partners. I am excited that our team is working on systems-level change that will lead to a stronger sense of connection among students, teachers and school staff, families, and the community.
What would we find you doing when you aren’t at work?
Playing (and coaching!) soccer, hiking, jumping into cold rivers and streams, gardening, hanging out with my family
