United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County’s Tocqueville Society was created in 1990 to recognize individuals and couples who invest $10,000 or more each year. The Tocqueville Society is made up of over 139 members who contributed a combined $1.2M to United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County during the most recent Campaign.

The United for Youth Spring Convening brings together hundreds of partners, educators, community leaders, and more to advance our education goals. By sponsoring STEAM-themed Community Nights, you will support a minimum of four events during the 2024-2025 school year at various schools. Your sponsorship will help cover the cost of hands-on STEAM-related activities, enabling students and their families to engage in enriching educational experiences together. Community Nights, featuring Homework Diners, offer students and their families a nutritious meal, academic support, and access to a wide variety of community resources. This unique family engagement experience builds connections between parents, teachers, students, and community resources.

The Great Conversation connects young professionals with influential community leaders and United Way advocates. Through these conversations, we hope to create an intimate space to hear from local leaders on the importance of philanthropy and civic engagement — and how giving back to our community can positively influence your career. This event will be held in conjunction with PROpel Avl through the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce.

United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County offers a sponsorship opportunity for our annual volunteer appreciation event at the Asheville Tourists during National Volunteer Appreciation Week. This event honors volunteers who utilize United Way's Volunteer Center, Hands On Asheville-Buncombe, and celebrates non-profit partners who use it for recruitment.
Your sponsorship supports a memorable event for 200 attendees, including volunteers, non-profit partners, and their families. By sponsoring, you directly contribute to recognizing volunteer efforts and strengthening community bonds. This sponsorship is in conjunction with the Asheville Tourists and has HIGH VISIBILITY!

The Holiday Book Drive provides new books to students in Buncombe County and Asheville City. This sponsorship enables volunteer engagement and book purchases, helping students receive the gift of reading!

United Way's Volunteer Center, Hands On Asheville-Buncombe
Annual Sponsorship — $3,000
As a sponsor, you will play a crucial role in supporting the infrastructure that enables thousands of community members to engage in impactful volunteer work. Your sponsorship helps maintain and expand the center’s capabilities, ensuring that volunteer opportunities are plentiful, well-organized, and accessible.
The Hands On Asheville-Buncombe Volunteer Center, an integral part of the United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County, is dedicated to connecting volunteers with meaningful opportunities to make a difference in our community. By partnering with hundreds of local nonprofit organizations and Community Schools, Hands On offers a diverse array of volunteer activities each month, ensuring there's something for everyone regardless of interests or schedule.
Direct Mail
Sponsorship — $3,000
United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County sends out four direct mail postcards each year to supporters throughout Buncombe County, reaching 3,000 donors each time for a total of 12,000 impressions annually. This sponsorship ensures that your business gains exposure to a broad and engaged audience.
Live United T-Shirts
Sponsorship — $3,000
United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County runs an annual Live United Fund Campaign, which includes a workplace campaign in nearly 300 businesses in Asheville and Buncombe County. As part of the campaign promotion, we order 1,200 cotton Live United T-shirts to distribute at events throughout Buncombe County. Sponsor this initiative to have your business associated with our campaign and promote a united community.
