Professionals from the North Carolina College Personnel Association and North Carolina Housing Officers gathered in Asheville this morning for their annual conference. Not satisfied with just sharing best practices and checking in with their peers from across the state, this dynamic group decided to add a volunteer service project to their conference agenda. Thirty five individuals from both groups gathered this morning at 7:30 A.M. for breakfast, coffee and to create and fill 215 Snack Packs for Asheville and Erwin Middle School Students. This highly creative group, none of whom were from the Buncombe County area, dived into the task with enthusiasm and were more than happy to help out students in our community!
A big thank you to Crown Plaza Resort for hosting us, Camilla Brewer for serving as point person and all who gathered this morning and pitched in to ensure no child goes hungry in our community.
